My Favorite Inks: J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune

Hi pen friends! Here's another look at one of my favorite inks: J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune. I find myself coming back to it frequently, despite having dozens of colors in the house. Hope you enjoy it!

(The image is clickable, and I've done my best on a color-corrected monitor to make the color render true to life. I can't control what other monitors may do with this though! If in doubt about an ink color, I always recommend buying a sample first before committing further.)

  1. I had a similar initial response to this ink, and a similar conversion. Writing with it the first time made my heart sink, as I was rather expecting something overtly rich and deep rather than "Eh. Kinda purple." Looking at it the next day was a revelation of the astonishing (if paradoxical) power of subtlty. My only worry about it now is that it will catch on and become hard to find.

  2. I'm going to have to order some of this. I usually like more "saturated" inks (a la Noodler's) and I think I've thus given J. Herbin inks short shrift. Recently, I found that I adore both Cacao du Bresil and Ambre de Birmanie!
    What a maroon I am...
